(More broadly, decades of Republican control means that Red states probably do receive more than their share, eh? I know that Texas is a "net importer.")
Louisiana has gotten $130 billion in post-Katrina aid. How is it that the stars of the Republican austerity movement come from the states that suck up the most federal money? Taxpayers in New York send way more to Washington than they get back so more can go to places like Alaska and Louisiana.

This is why I'd like to see Schumer's all-or-nothing approach to stimpak money get some legs. These southern rumpers are getting a lot of phony mileage out of their "principled outrage" over a tiny percentage of the total funds.
This going to a free all you can eat buffet, pigging out, and then complaining that you MAY have to chip in 2% toward the desert!
I say screw 'em. Including my jelly-spinned Gov. Lynch. It's a recovery PACKAGE, not a recovery MENU.

I would say it's like going to that buffet and then trying to claim a 2% discount because you didn't eat any okra.

But you see Schumer's point, right? He's saying the stimpak is a balanced diet for a malnourished economy. Governors can't just eat the pork and not the veg. It defeats the whole purpose of the diet!
OK. I'm done with really bad food analogies....

Oh yeah. I wrote a post on Schumer's thing yesterday, but took it down because I didn't know enough about the bill and disbursemnet rules to talk about it intelligently.
Politically, Schumer's act is pretty good.
