Thought

Less than 24 hours ago, it was widely presented that Bobby Jindal is the best the GOP has to offer.

  • In a word, he looked foolish.

  • Yeah. I think his biggest mistake is that he was so out of tone.

I wonder if he didn't watch the speech or if he was handcuffed to what was already written or if he was surrounded by hardcores and thought that tone was right.

  • Bobby IS the best the GOP has to offer. At least when it comes to the hyper-partisan winger wing of the GOP.

The GOP leadership has made a choice: Veer right. Hard. Hyper-partisanship (it's all about Repub v Dems, not about finding solutions). Good luck with that.

  • Fair point. There are no real moderates available. Probably the best two would be Romney who burned his moderate card in the 2008 primaries and Charlie Crist who is apparently not wanted by the GOP establishment.

(Don't really know why. Maybe it's his periodic bouts with the national folks, but I tend to blame the gay rumor.)

  • 'would jindal be considered "one of us" by the palinite mouth-breathers?'

You've put your finger on the problem. He was chosen to show how inclusive the GOP can be. It backfired.

  • Yup.

That, and what other profile figure do they have?
