Still waiting for the Obama August fundrasing numbers......

Let's assume the numbers are good. Does the Obama team hold on to the news for maximum news-cycle affect? Say, when McCain's post convention bounce peaks?

Conversely, if the numbers are bad... Well that'll just suck no matter when you announce.

My hope, of course, is that the numbers are good. I think the Palin announcement did as much to open Democratic pocketbooks as it did Right Wing purse strings....

I don't know. That's what I'm wondering and keep bringing it up.

In early August there was an expectation of a banner month and it was the convention, but who knows?

(Oh, and there was a report of something like $10 million is the day after the Palin announcement, but that was also after the convention.)

But, I'm getting really curious.

Yes, but "A spokesman said that August was its best fund-raising month yet...."

The enthusiasm is still out there for Obama, and there's still alot of Clinton big donor money out there.

Yes, you don't like to read articles like this, but it's not like the donors are maxed out and there's nowhere else to go.

I agree with you. I think the spin in the NYT article is more that the Obama numbers will look "bad" because the GOP numbers will look better than expected.
