That's my point. There are more critical things going on right now than those that are being placed atop the news.
I think the McKinney thing is getting press because the Repubs are pushing it as a distraction, but also because McKinney is pretty crazy. It's a bit salacious, but if she had just quietly admitted wrongdoing with some explanation of a bad day, it probably would have been dropped.
Instead, she inflamed the situation.
