Contracting Internet Surveillance

I picked this up over at Genius of Insanity, a company called Cyveillance that "examines the public domain areas of the Internet for information of pivotal interest to Federal, State, and Local governments," including:

  • Awareness of online discussion by hostile groups associated with planned demonstrations or attacks
  • Controlling classified information that has leaked into the public domain

  • That company must be working loads of overtime with all the hostility being directed toward Dubya these days.

  • Yeah, Kathy, I think it's our patriotic duty to cripple these spy outfits by overloading them, spitting all the anti-Bush bile that we can. It's our duty as Americans.

Oh, Kvatch, these guys work on contract for this government. They get paid whether they do anything or not.

If we've learned anything in the last year, it's that it's all about the contributions, baby.
