10 years after impeachment

Ten years ago, America was willing to impeach a president for lying about sex. Ten years later, there was no concomitant political push to impeach the next president for lying about the justifications for the deadly war in Iraq. Did the expensive lessons and bitter taste of the former preclude any chance for the latter?

  • We didn't fear what we'd find when we impeached Clinton. We're scared to death what will find -- about Bush, our country and ourselves -- if we impeached Bush. In a sense, Bush was like a terrorist wearing an explosives vest, daring us to push him.

  • i am convinced there is some type of blackmail the GOP is holding over the Dems...i refuse to accept the theory that most Dems are spineless...something has to be over their heads...maybe it was the complicity in the Bush decisions...or massive corruption...

  • I know what you're saying, although I don't think it's so much a bombshell as just wanting to get along.

    The Dems know that if they go after Bush, the Republicans dig in.

    However, it looks like they're digging in anyway, so maybe...
