I find it interesting that Palin sort of implies she had an offer to work for ESPN, but she turned it down to raise the family. Instead, it was just a silly dream that was too far out of her comfort zone to pursue... so she quit.
Palin may be very aggressive, but her ambitions seem to be bound by a certain circle of comfortable familiarity -- the VP thing notwithstanding. She isn't comfortable away from her father or husband.
I kind of rambled a little, but her statement is a classic overreach... Of implying a credential or accomplishment (an offer to work for ESPN) that never really existed. She did this throughout the campaign (bridge to nowhere, eBay jet sale, fiscally responsible); taking credit for accomplishments that were bogus. Nothing more then wishful thinking and inflated self-image.
She's the type of politician -- like so many base republicans -- how finds great assurance and confidence when surrounded by a friendly audience, but is reduced to a babbling idiot when challenged (remember the interviews!). She is aggressive, sure. But her confidence comes from being supported (or surrounded) by a cheering echo chamber....
This is not the America I was brought up to believe in.
This blog seeks to highlight abuse of power, deception, corruption, and just plain bad ideas in government and corporations.

I read it differently, as an ego protective rewriting of history.
She could have been a star, but she decided not to. (rather than rejection.)
