Right. There goes Palin's bank shot hopes of legitimacy.... A re-elected but ousted (or resigned) Stevens opening up a special election shot in red, red Alaska.
If the "intellectual" branch of conservatism wins out in the GOP bitch slap fight for dominance, her second, even longer-shot at relevancy will aslo be closed off.
Now she's stuck back in the governors chair with a lot more political enemies than when she left on her Caribou Barbie tour of the lower 48. Actually, wasn't it the lower 10. Not sure she visited all 48.
I expect her enemies -- new and old -- will be taking out their magnifying glasses and fine-toothed combs, examining EVERY action, expense report and appointment... past and future. Then again, she may end up being an absentee governor if she chooses to go the the fundie GOP roadshow circuit (CPAC in Feb, who know what others)
Yeah, that Senate seat was her way out. After the next two years, with oil in the toilet and so many enemies, she won't come out smelling quite as sweet.
(But I'm sure she handles stress well. You can just tell that about her.)
This is not the America I was brought up to believe in.
This blog seeks to highlight abuse of power, deception, corruption, and just plain bad ideas in government and corporations.

It's looking more and more like QVC for Sarah...

Yeah, and she was in the sweet spot of her governorship, too. Just out of the honeymoon, and the problems she created haven't really come back yet.
The Senate seat would have offered her that escape while she was still perceived to be doing well.
