Now, I don't really care about internal party politics, but I'm at a loss to understand what it takes to actually piss off the Dem leaders to the point of actually, you know, standing for something. I mean, why not give Lindsey Graham a committee chairmanship?
Agreed. The proof of the pudding is in the eating, so we'll have to see how Lieberman performs in the next congress. The bigger picture is getting real legislative change. Lieberman either facilitates that process or hinders it... There may be future changes in leadership. Who knows.
Why'd you have to post a picture!? Now I'm just pissed off. I seem to have a visceral, Pavlovian, reaction to the very sight of Lieberman. It's not about Dem vs. Repub... I just really, really, don't like the man on a human level. Not anger so much as contempt.
This is not the America I was brought up to believe in.
This blog seeks to highlight abuse of power, deception, corruption, and just plain bad ideas in government and corporations.

I understand the realpolitik of this, but I think you strip him of the committee chairmanship.
In the end, though, I'm not the one pushing stuff through and counting the votes.

That's why I put the picture up, because it captures the awkwardness of the moment.
Look at Reid and Durbin's faces.

I haven't seen the news video, but I got the impression Reid didn't want Lieberman to speak at this event... Somehow Joe made it to the microphone.
