My personal feelings are that the Dem caucus should "demote" Lieberman to the point of policy irrelevance and leave it up to him if he still wants to caucus with the Dems. But really, I don't give a crap what the Dem pary wants to do with him. As I've said before, political parties are a pox on democracy.

I generally agree with your diagnosis. Put the onus on him to be petulant or contrite.
That takes off some pressure if you're later looking for his vote.
But, really, something about the cartoon made me laugh.
