Making West Virginia matter

So, West Virginia, which has half the population of my city, is now a "big state?"

  • Have you noticed that almost without exception every Clinton argument for the importance of a given state is based on how that state has voted (or didn't vote) in the past? Sometimes the distant past. Their argument becomes almost one of superstition...

Break a mirror and you'll have seven years of bad luck. Nominate a man who doesn't win the WV primary and you'll lose the White House. If a cow is laying down it's going to rain....

If you can't win a majority of white people between the ages of 45 and 70, who don't have college degrees, earn more than $20,000 but less than $48,350.37, are not college educated, and live somewhere northwest of the Appalachian Trail, but east-southeast of the Mississippi River, well by God what are you thinking! These people are the kingmakers of Democracy!

  • In other words, your voters are worthless, your states are worthless (all 30 of them), but mine are critical.

On the other hand, I heard this about a month ago,

    That's the argument they've got.

And again, Obama leads +7 over McCain in the latest polls (and these people were in that poll.).
