Man, I wish I could land the DoD contract to supply the those props to the Iraqi military. I could make as much as $750 a pop for those and I’ll guarantee no splinters!
It struck me as somewhat emblematic of the problems with the Iraqi security force training. Both the question of how ready they'll be with wooden guns, and also that we don't trust new recruits with them.
I've read a couple of accounts of the military trainers keeping a very watchful eye on their charges if you know what I mean.
Yep they'll be standing up anytime now. After they play soldier, I hear they get to play hide and seek and if they're REALLY good, they get to play dodge ball at recess.
Mustard, I've only read of that kind of backhanded in a couple of articles, and all of them were referencing circa 2004, but the desertion rate probably plays a factor, too.
That's the same level of military armamnet the nat'l guard is going to have on the border!
And, if they could take their families, I think you would have to fight Iraqis off with a stick if they thought they were going to get a chance to guard the US Mexico border compared to what they're facing.
This is not the America I was brought up to believe in.
This blog seeks to highlight abuse of power, deception, corruption, and just plain bad ideas in government and corporations.

I will bet that's right Mike. You wouldn't want to risk getting fragged by some raw recruits of questionable loyalties.

Or, we can transfer them to the Mexican border to chase away those darn little brown people.
