Counter Narrative

It's the U.S.-Mexico border, and even as politicians say more federal troops are needed to fight rising violence, government data obtained by The Associated Press show it actually isn't so dangerous after all.

The top four big cities in America with the lowest rates of violent crime are all in border states: San Diego, Phoenix, El Paso and Austin, according to a new FBI report.

    We KNOW the illegals are responsible for an epidemic of violent, drug-related crime and are a giant drain on public services; leaches on the teat of the "liberal" welfare state. And it's Obama's. Or Clinton's. Probably Obama 'cause, you know, he hates whites anyway.

  • There's a story floating around down here about a Mexican drug cartel wanting to blow up a dam to flood another cartel's turf.

    The feds aren't treating it too credibly, but you know it's making the rounds on the right.

  • on the other hand, on Mexican tv news, there are daily stories of gang murders with lurid pictures of bodies and crime-scene tape. very visible media on that side of the border.

    gun sales on one side, drug sales on the other... two unequal economies... it's a potent mix.
