Sending a message

The US "leaks" to the front page of the WaPo that there are contingency plans to strike in Pakistan if there's another Times Square type attack.

They want Pakistan to hear that so they will crack down on the militants themselves.

  • Well, that's the price of ally-ship.

    They could go neutral and lose all the financial support and trade advantages. They would also have to go to the Chinese for help against India, but the Chinese would push them to do more against the radicals that cross over into China as well.
