Presumptuous (or the best prepared transition in history.)
Remember all that talk about Obama being "presumptuous," and setting up the mechanisms for transition before the election? Remember how that was portrayed as a bad thing?
It's wasn't, and it's not. They are really prepping to hit the ground running to a depth and degree not seen before. (No drama, right?)

I read this sentiment somewhere...
America has only one president at a time. Unfortunately, it's Barack Obama, but he won't be vested with the powers of the presidency for another 48 days.
And you're right... No one's calling him presumptuous now. If fact, if anything he's been slightly criticized for not being even MORE engaged!? Weird. Silly pundits.

However, you gotta say they're doing the best they can to telegraph economic policy so that people will know what's coming right from the start. They can't actually do anything now, but they're saying exactly what they'll do in a month and a half.

All true. But never in my lifetime can I remember the nation so focused, so attentive, to the president-elect. And conversely, so disengaged from the lame-duck president.
It's this impatient anticipation of having the president-elect actually BE the president that I find remarkable.

Well, we've all had enough haven't we?
Even John McCain was running on "turn the page."
