I was somewhat surprised Obama only won 52% popular vote. Back to my predictions, I thought the EV would be tighter and the pop. vote wider. I had it backwards. Still, we're talking a convincing victory -- though I wouldn't say landslide. Amazing really, when you consider the polarization the GOP has infected the country with since 1994.
Actually, there are some figures circulating on a computer-assisted-reporting listserv that suggest that yesterday's turnout was not a record. Margins were so wide in some places, it is hypothesized, because a lot of would-be GOP voters got discouraged and stayed home, not because the number of Dem voters was THAT much greater.
This is not the America I was brought up to believe in.
This blog seeks to highlight abuse of power, deception, corruption, and just plain bad ideas in government and corporations.

Yeah, I went back and looked at mine. My pop vote was a point high for Obama, but I expected a little bigger women/men gap.
If it all finishes the way it looks, I hit the EV right on.

Yeah, that was based on an estimate laid out by one of those election watching professors.
If you go to the link and read around the quote, they make the caveat that the number may not be right.
