Stream of Consciousness
It's still all kinda sinking in, so I'm just blogging stream of consciousness this morning.
It'll probably take awhile until I fully get to the historic "electing a black man president" part.
I'm still in "campaign mode."

If we have to keep talking about the business of 'electing a black man', could we at least be factually accurate and point out the mixed-race part?
I have the feeling this election was much less about Obama as a black person than about a complete rejection of the neocon agenda, and finding in Obama's personal qualities a suitable focus for booting the criminals out.
If I had a little wish, it would be that when the two kids get their puppy, that it's a mixed-race puppy from the local animal shelter. I'd love to see that kind of rescue become fashionable.)

I get your point and tend to agree with it. I think you'd agree that I covered this election race neutral because it really doesn't matter to me.
I also think it's interesting that he's not "traditional" American black, not having US slavery in his heritage.
But, having said that, it is a really big deal to have a black face in the White House with all the history.
