Obama should reach out to McCain immediately. It would work in both men's favor to be seen as forgiving and pragmatist -- after all, they agree on some things. McCain could wind up being that crucial 59th or 60th vote and bring a few buddies along, particularly on global warming, etc.
According to the official story of the night, he did, reaching out in the phone call with a very gracious mention in his speech, but whether that's real, we'll have to wait and see.
This is not the America I was brought up to believe in.

He'll try to hijack some issue to restore the brand, but.....
