One of the Obama campaign's toughest tasks going forward will be to guide the Clinton supporters through the five stages of grief in a timely and non-disruptive manner.
1. Denial and Isolation.
2. Anger.
3. Bargaining.
4. Depression.
5. Acceptance.
We've been hearing alot of anger, "I'll never vote for him," and I would expect to hear alot of bargaining in the next few days, Obama/Clinton joint ticket and Florida and Michigan, if, if, if...
The question is, can Obama's oratorical skills pull them through to acceptance. (And how much does Clinton help.)

Interesting. I don't think it will depend as much on Obama's oratorical skills as the willingness of Clinton's supporters to open their ears. If Hillary is interested in supporting the Democratic nominee this is where she can be most effective: telling her supporters it's OK to support Obama. As I said, if she's willing to support the Dem nominee.
I wonder what role Michelle Obama might play in assuring Hillary's supporters that it's "safe" to support Obama? Will Hillary's white women see her as a woman, or as one of those -- you know -- negro woman?

As I posted a couple days ago, probably the best avenue for Obama will be to stress issues and differences with McCain. Supreme Court judges, Iraq, tax cuts/econmy....
And the way she goes will be key.
I would also expect to see Claire McCaskill (and probably Pelosi) try to step in to lever the white women.
Two other thoughts. How much of the Clinton base can they raise money from?
And, remembver how you felt in 2004 after Kerry lost. That took me 6 months to get over.

Don't wanna support OB? leave 'em but also quietly remind them a McCrazy presidency will likely nominate and firmly push pro-lfe SCOTUS nominees. Still no luck? say bye and don't look back. OB wins without them and they are left to grow older and more bitter... and I would be telling hrc the same thing about the AA vote if she were the nominee. ask for their support based upon progressive values - and then turn and don't look back...hrc and co is and have been vicious and I have no expectation of OB and co to spend a lot of time courting her bloc.

Anon, if nothing else, there's a huge amount of money out there to be tapped.
I also think it's important for the party's fortunes beyond the presidency. All those Congressional and local races.
Plus, it's good positioning to be gracious.
