The Obama campaign's spin

(Memo) "...And for perspective, while 28 pledged delegates are up for grabs this evening, Obama has won the support of 27 superdelegates in the course of just the last week..."

True. But it's still gonna sting.

  • Why is it when Hillary trounces Obama in West Virginia I want to say it's all about racism, but when Obama similarly trounced Hillary in Idaho or Colorado or Georgia, I don't say it's misogyny?

So why did WV go so lopsidedly for Hillary and the other state mentioned go so lopsidedly for Obama? Is there even a single answer?

  • Part of it's you, but part of it is because we have polling and anecdotals of W. Virginians actually saying they're racist.

(Whereas I'm yet to see anything very solid saying people are voting against Clinton because of gender. There may be some sexist tint to the anti-Hillary, but generally the top negatives are about character.)

  • ABC: "Racially motivated voting ran somewhat higher than elsewhere: Two in 10 whites said the race of the candidate was a factor in their vote"
