As a tangent thought: If mercenary contractors were taken into custody by Iraqi security forces (police or otherwise) could Iraq hold them as unlawful combatants?
Michael, it's one of those snapshots that captures the "wild west" of Iraq.
EPM, with about as much legal backing as our government has to do that.
Technically, under Bremer's CPA a law was passed exempting contractors under Iraqi law, but, in theory, the parliament could revoke that. (If they could pass anything, they could probably pass that.)
This is not the America I was brought up to believe in.
This blog seeks to highlight abuse of power, deception, corruption, and just plain bad ideas in government and corporations.
