Picture of the Day - 2
So, I guess the question is, if the Bush administration steps back from supporting Maliki, what's his next move? Does he turn to Iran to try and survive?

Bush may have given up on Maliki. But maybe Maliki has given up on Bush. He seems very interested in talking to Iran and Syria.

Yeah. The thing that he must regret is that the US managed to turn the Mahdi against him (or him against the Mahdi.)
I wonder if Iran could bring the Mahdi back into the fold?
And, I wonder about Syria, you know? Sunni nation, has supported the Sunni fighters, but a long relationship dealing with Iran and the Hezbullah militia.
I just don't know. The cards have been thrown up in the air, I think we're going to have to see some clues before we know what it's going to look like.
