Yeah, there's a school of thought that Bush keeps these guys around as substitute punching bags. If Bush replaces Rumsfeld with someone highly regarded, suddenly all the criticism comes his way.
But that still doesn't explain why you announce it. The official line is that it was intended to fire the base and show faith in the war, but I don't know.
This is not the America I was brought up to believe in.
This blog seeks to highlight abuse of power, deception, corruption, and just plain bad ideas in government and corporations.
