You know there's a reason why such aphorisms were created and survive: they're true. Here's another one for this administration: Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.
Kvatch, I don't watch 24. I missed the early ones and kinda figured it's not something you can just jump in on.
Plus, generally, I don't like the white hat/black hat national security themed action dramas or movies. I think it's that I never see the motivations all that clearly.
And, EPM, Let me agree by saying that these are often repeatible and true because there is a universality of pitfalls and character flaws among those who aspire to positions of power. Grandiosity, megalomania, a belief towards infallibility, a view of the world as black and white.
I forget who says it, but those who want power the most are probably the ones you least want to have it.
This is not the America I was brought up to believe in.
This blog seeks to highlight abuse of power, deception, corruption, and just plain bad ideas in government and corporations.
