It was 1969 on a hill called Nui Ba Cam. While under rocket attack, and while others ran and took cover, a 19 year old south vietnamese soldier stayed on his M-50 machine gun returning fire. A rocket finally took him out. He used to carry a 50lb block of ice up that hill for us in exchange for a box of C's. He was my friend. Your picture brought back the memory.
This is not the America I was brought up to believe in.
