Mark Halperin notes that despite all the chatter about a Republican resurgence, potential 2012 presidential challengers aren't exactly off to a running start. Besides Pawlenty and Romney, who else is really laying the groundwork?

Yeah. I think we've got Romney and Pawlenty for sure.
Palin I put as a maybe. I think she'll see who else jumps in before she does because if she ends up splitting her block with someone, she could come in 3rd in Iowa which could seriously impact her earning potential.

Romney was in the DSM public library a few weeks ago. It's right across from where I work. Basically no one showed up.
