The GOP's 15 minutes of hate is over for now. What do they hate now?
When does freedom entail the freedom to die for lack of affordable healthcare?
The GOP conception of freedom seems to be the freedom for them to personally amass wealth at the expense of everyone and everything else not affecting them.
This HCR will have a direct, positive affect for my family. Specifically, my children.
I wonder if Tea Baggers have kids over 18 and on their own? I wonder what those "kids" do for health insurance? My self-employed son and my under-employed daughters don't have access to health insurance. (My son does have coverage because his wife is a socialist teacher at a socialist government school and gets a fairly decent plan 'cause of the commie union). I mean, progressives and moderates can't be the only ones who have personal experience with the draconian heath care industry.
Again, my hope is that the media narrative becomes less vapid theatre and more informative as to what working class Americans will GET from this reform... how these changes actually lifts the thumb of corporate abuse off their backs. 'Cause if people begin to learn "what's in it for me," the Republicans' attempts to take it away from them will be met with the disgust it so rightly deserves.
Oh and to the point of the question in your post...
Healthcare Reform will have to take it's place in line in the "It'll destroy America!" parade. Right now. It's the gays. Particularly the gays who are so-called married, as in New Hampshire. Indeed, since the gays have been marrying here, I've found myself oddly less interested in my wife... and more interested in post-game, locker room interviews. Although as of today, HCR may have cut in front of the gays in the blitzkrieg of American America-haters storming the shores of Freedom!
Isn't it bizarre how everything that IS destroying America is defended by the right wing. And everything that strengthens America is assaulted by the right wing. Even Alice had to come back through the looking glass eventually.
This is not the America I was brought up to believe in.
This blog seeks to highlight abuse of power, deception, corruption, and just plain bad ideas in government and corporations.

Anon, That's new? Isn't that the basis of the Reagan Republicanism?
