Their heroes

Let's run through the current top Republican heroes.

New Senator Scott Brown, ex-nude centerfold.

Sarah Palin, an ill educated, and wantonly ignorant failed sportscaster who uses facebook to dodge interviews, but was almost vice president.

Rush Limbaugh, a pill popping, rumored to be hooker visiting, racist, sexist, bigoted blowhard.

Glenn Beck, a man quite seriously discussed of having mental disorders.

You can continue the list, but you get the idea. This is the worshiped ideological core of the "Christian" GOP.

  • And the voting public apparently is on board. You can only run on stupid so long before the inertia of responsible past runs out.

  • I dunno. It's working pretty well right now.,

  • Here's my thinking....

People want Congress to get shit done. It doesn't matter that 100% of the Republicans are the reasons shit didn't get done, the voting public will blame the majority party.

It also doesn't hurt that the Republicans have their own cable network and that the broadcast networks have more conservatives than liberals (and NO LABOR voices) on the pundit shows and that the only "Christians" you'll see on TV are conservative evangelicals and their ilk.

But really... The Dems have no clear (read soundbite) message. Howard Dean was the best thing the Dems had and they tossed him aside. So how's that workin' for ya?

  • I was hoping they'd load up Biden with some pithy quotes, and find him exactly two minutes at some microphone to unload them...

I really like the Obama administration, taken as a whole.

I'm crossing my fingers that the current 'oh, this administration is toast' vibe that's on the media will fizzle.

I'm also crossing my fingers that, like a good football team, the administration has plans, counterplans, and contingency plans up their sleeves for these inevitable rightwing slams.

  • EPM, Oh yeah. I wrote a post a good while back about the tea party chaos saying that a sense of chaos punishes the party in power regardless of who was responsible.

I still don't know why they dumped Dean. My guess was that he wasn't willing to concede power to axelrod.

    ,,,,,

Anon, I wouldn't be surprised to see a counter CW snap back because the media has gone so far into the "over" narrative.
