From a NYDailyNews "interview" with Harold Ford.
The interview - granted under the condition that the questions be limited to his rationale for running, and not issues...

  • If one's rationale for running for office is not motivated by "issues" then I assume their motive is merely self-interest.

  • Yeah. That's why that struck me so funny. You can ask me only about my inspirational empty answers. Not anything I would actually think or do.

It's like he was looking for the Simpsons' question, "Mr. Burns, your candidacy has all he momentum of a locomotive. Why do people love you so much?"

And why did the Daily News consent?
