A big Vanity Fair piece on Sarah Palin's VP run is getting alot of blogging attention today. There's still some carping from McCain staffers in there, but it's looong. Not sure if it's worth it.
Just for discussion, is Palin now so nationally damaged that she's out of the Presidential hunt forever?

Depends who she's running against I guess. The GOP don't seem to have anybody who embodies the core philosophy...whatever that is.

I kinda mistated that question from what I intended. I certainly believe she could win the GOP nomination through some set of circumstances, but I don't think she could ever make up with the center of America for a general election.
There was just too much damage done.

Right. She's a joke for most people I think.

Are there more people who think she's a joke today than there were during the election? I'm not sure.

Yeah.I think her only hope is if she somehow turns women back to her by portraying her flop as being victimized. Hence the Letterman flap about nothing.
But I still don't think that works on center women.

Sarah Palin is a diva who got called up from the bush leagues. She's still raw, but she's like Madonna, Paris Hilton, Jennifer Lopez. Smart, relentless, confident in her sense of what people want.
She's a quick study and has turned embarrassing incidents, any one of which would've sunk other politicians permanently, into strengths. A greater portion of the country is likely to come around to her quasi-libertarian stance if deficits and taxes continue. She's not going anywhere but up.
