Thought for the Day

Bernie Madoff will get a lighter sentence than someone convicted on a half dozen counts of burglary.

Later: Whoa. I was wrong. Madoff gets the max, 150 years.

I hope he gets to stay alive to enjoy many of them.

  • Considering his theft committed so many to poverty, and the fact that there were so, so many counts, no. It doesn't seem harsh to me at all.

    You might argue that it's harsh because he and his wife have sort of cooperated and voluntarily turned over money, but from where we sit, we don't know how much he tried to hide from prosecutors.
