I'm not particularly "Saudi friendly," just observations. Even more than their oil, Saudis' dollar-based wealth in a time of economic distress is giving them leverage in international affairs. I mean, they've always been rich, but they've never been leaders. I'm wondering if the heightened impact of the Islamic world on the West has prompted them to exert some demands for influencing international policy... not just oil prices.
I should add...for me it isn't a question of taking sides. The war in the Middle East is really being fought in Washington. Israel more or less controls Congress, the Saudis are in the Arab/Muslim corner and they have oil. It's that simple.
This is not the America I was brought up to believe in.
This blog seeks to highlight abuse of power, deception, corruption, and just plain bad ideas in government and corporations.

No big deal, guys, Frankly, I agree with every point.
Something in the tone just struck me as kinda funny. I don't know why.
We've all talked enough that it seemed unusually rare to read multiple comments commonly friendly about anything.
My comment wasn't intended as a challenge of any sort. Just something (outside their content made me laugh.
Sorry if I stepped on toes.
