I understand. But it seems to me the VP is even MORE removed from policy-making. That's my point here. After all, there was much handwringing over Clinton NOT being picked as VP.
Hard to say. My sense is that you're right, that Biden is pretty far outside, but because it's backroom, we don't know.
I think Clinton would be different, though. There would be so many in the administration partially loyal to the Clinton's her influence could have been huge.
This is not the America I was brought up to believe in.

Wow. I just realized that Clinton has a much, much better role in shaping US policy as SoS than she ever would have as VP.

Some policies. But she was kept very clear of healthcare.
(Maybe because they didn't want her in it, maybe because they didn't want the political echoes of 1993.)
