What has happened to Politico?
Apparently, Politico has made the editorial decision to just start printing whatever right wing paranoia that's handed to them.
Six journalists find jobs among the tens of thousands in the Obama administration and that's evidence of conspiracy worthy of top story? Your sources are Malkin, the National Review, and Weekly Standard?

What a waste of electronic space. This thing reads like a junior high gossip column... a little catty, if you ask me.
And the question, "would reporters work in a hypothetical McCain administration?" is just silly. "Would you go out with Johnny if he was the starting quarterback? Or do you think he has cooties and you'd never go out with him. You just think Barry's sooooo dreamy. *blink* *blink* *blink* sigh."
Americans are being fed an enormous amount of empty headed calories by the "media." American news outlets (cable and broadcast mostly) have become the journalistic equivalent of fast food... big on sizzle, little on value.

Add to that that a couple of journalists did go to work for the Bush admin...

And wasn't there an high level AP guy who was offered a job with McCain? He didn't take it, but the coziness was there.
Perhaps even more egregious than taking a job with a politician is to NOT take it, but remain in the journalistic trenches as a hack water-carrier.

Yeah, there was the AP guy who then wrote very friendly to McCain.
Also, the print market is very different than just a year or two ago. If I saw a way to get some other kind of transferable experience, I would jump.

And wasn't there a guy named Tony Snow who had some minor, low level job in the Bush admin? :)
Oh, it just gets sillier and sillier. The problem isn't people with a journalistic background entering politics, it's people with a political bent entering "journalism."
Republicans are just lookin' to say stupid things. Are they setting the groundwork for an insanity defense? :)
