McCain tries to transition to "Everyone's angry."

Interesting attempt at transition. The McCain campaign tries to wriggle out from under the blame for the "angry mobs" by transitioning to "everybody's angry," trying to convert the ugly "angry crowds" into all of our frustrated voices.
"I've traveled all over this great country and one thing I hear from Americans at every stop is that they're angry." Repeating "they are angry," twice, he added, "they're angry about the mess in Washington and Wall Street. They're angry about the failure of leadership at this hour of national crisis. They are angry that our leaders are more interested in pointing fingers at each other and advancing their own political interest than in coming together, Democrats and Republicans to solve the big problems we face."

(Although, somehow I don't think the people shouting death threats at Dem nominee were really craving more bipartisanship.)

And, Palin transitions to her "personal story" over abortion.

(Abandoning Ayers and going to their "strengths?")

  • Yeah, all those Palin followers calling for the death of Barack Obama are certainly pro-life.

  • 'Zactly.

The tough economy is just making them "cling" to their death threats.

    Excellent point.
Nobody at Obama rallies is screaming for McCain's death, either.
The wingnuts recently launched a great tirade over individuals at three different campaign rallies shouting out "Liar!" during McCain's speeches. Calling a politician a liar is par for the course in American politics, and certainly is not on the same level as accusing them of a capital crime (i.e. treason), or terrorism, or advocating that someone "Kill him!".

Since these fanatics are merely taking up the very same accusations that the McCain campaign itself has made, it is hard to understand how this phenomenon reflects some kind of rejection of "pointing fingers" instead of "finding solutions".

  • Right. Liar is a long way from death threats.

(I'm amazed the McCain folks aren't dragging out code pink or something. They tried that look at the people shouting "war criminal" at Bush in 2004, but it didn't fly.)

PS. Let's also remember that the Arkansas Dem chairman was shot to death in the state campaign office.
