The assumption of a McCain loss starts to seep through the GOP.
Two little bits. First, The jockeying for taking over the GOP chairmanship is already starting, with one "contestant" already arranging a "lessons learned" conference for after the election.
Second, and more revealing to me, Rush Limbaugh asks Sarah Palin about her "political future beyond this campaign." (Wouldn't that be serving as VP?)
The assumption of a McCain loss is starting to permeate, even within the GOP's most stalwart supporters, and that will have lots of follow on effects. (Got a big post about half written on that.)

once this news hits stride (if in fact it does) will be the final nails being pushed in the coffin. too bad this meme didn't start a few days ago to have sunk in sufficiently for tomorrow's debate...

Yeah, but at the same time, the more McCain is seen as losing, the more free he'll be, and I'd rather have McCain play safer in the debates.
Besides, if Obama gets the (what has become standard) post debate bump, it will give a little jet to the "McCain losing" meme.

I read at another site today that Bristol's baby-daddy granted an interview maybe a week ago and admitted to dropping out of his senior year of HS and not registering to vote. And said he thought Obama seemed like a nice guy but of course wanted Mrs. Palin to win.
It seems some days there is too much to talk/criticize about...

I saw that.
That's the kind of responsible, ill educated kid you want raising your grandkid.

I'm glad to see the polls on the smart side of things, of course. But the real poll takes place in November, and I'll wait til afterward to relax a bit...

Oh, yeah. If nothing else, a meteor could still hit, but all the polling is charting the right way. Nothing's guaranteed, but it's pretty comfortable at this point.
Plus, media perception of a flailing McCain places an inertia against any efforts he makes.
