Picture of the Day - 2

I find it a little tragic to watch McCain trying to hold the smile of enthusiasm.

  • The only sincere smile McCain is capable of is the laugh at someone else's misfortune/expense. He doesn't do "happy" very well.

  • Yeah. I'll bet he has a good smile after and election win, but we're not gonna see that.

  • Well here's the thing, and it's a bit of a subtlety. When McCain is smiling after winning an election, I bet he's happier at the other guy's misfortune than his own gain.

This is part of my hypothesis that McCain is a rock thrower. He's interested in the fight. He loves to hate his opponent. He finds joy in their misery. Now, of course he likes to win as well, but I believe his real motivation is to destroy his opponent.

This is what so infuriates him: Obama simply refuses to take the bait.... refuses to engage in the fight on McCain's terms. It just frustrates the hell out him and you see it in his debate behavior.

I'm oversimplifying, but that's the crux of it. McCain is simply not a "nice" person. And it gnaws at him that the "nice" guy is winning... and that people aren't buyin' all the expensively packaged slime McCain's been tryin' to sell.

  • agree and very well-put btw...he's a bully that too late a good lesson/ass-kicking has come. but better late than not at all. I wish the election was today...i grow ever-more embarrassed as each day plays out.

  • Maybe, I dunno.

I'll certainly buy the "enemy scenario" but, really,I was just trying to be snarky.

  • Anon, as it looks more likely, some of the juice is running out of the thing.

Of course, being in Texas, nobody's trying to get my enthusiasm up and get out my vote.
