I don't know about everywhere else, but this is a Rockwell image straight out of the suburban America where I live.

How dare a Muslim family enjoy soccer in America ;)

This is like a family right of passage in suburban America.
Matt, check your 'Mericun handbook. It's okay for girls to play soccer, just not boys.

The fact that he does normal stuff, and that his kids obviously love him, just does my heart good.
I mean -- I know that the crowd has to be full of people wearing little ear-wires, but I still want to think he just took the time to watch his kid run around.
After eight ugly years of watching in stunned horror as the Bush machine hollowed out the economy and wiped its feet on the Constitution, pictures like this are like throwing open a window.
I've got my fingers crossed...

I mean, you know, he's about as regular as a very highly educated subuurbanite can be, but yeah.
I'm occasionally struck by the regularness of the family. Perhaps it's because they haven't been in politics long enough to develop the empty and self serving relationships.
