Politico contacted some of the economists who signed a vague 400 word letter letter endorsing the McCain economic plan, a letter McCain is touting at every stop, and, when asked, these economists couldn't back away quickly enough.

You know, this really shows a lack of professionalism and academic fidelity on the part of these high profile people at high profile institutions. Their word and their signatures, it seems, are as cheap as the ink it's written in. Another example of why Americans are cynical...

True, they were also sold into it. Reading this thing, a number of them signed on months ago and MCCain has added alot of less good stuff as he fleshed it all out.
