"People like Joe Stiglitz lack the courage to consider the cost of doing nothing and the cost of failure. One can't even begin to put a price tag on the cost to this nation of the attacks of 9-11," said White House spokesman Tony Fratto, conceding that the costs of the war on terrorism are high while questioning the premise of Stiglitz's research.

I like how the White House always tries to frame the argument as "do exactly what we did, or do nothing." I hope people aren't still buying into this BS. Well, I guess they are. This is essentially the entirety of McCain's campaign.

The Iraq invasion went wrong that's what happened. If Iraqis were happy about being 'liberated' and oil was $20 a barrel nobody would be complaining.

Most Iraqis may have been okay with being invaded. It was the occupation and attempts to turn their country into what Paul Bremer wanted that caused the problems.
