Fairness

I don't really give a crap about this stuff, but after the repeated FRONT PAGE coverage John Edwards' haircut got, I'll be very curious to see if Mitt Romney's $300 makeup gets the same treatment. I'm betting not.

Because Mitt has such a manly smell.

Also. It is interesting that Ron Paul has garnered 52.5% of all Republican campaign contributions by military personnel.

  • Only 300 dollars?
I would have guessed maintaining that übernormal Mormon look would cost a lot more.

  • Oh, it may. This is just the item that came out. And that youthful "manly" bit that all the pundits keep putting out there is a whole lotta pressure to stay pretty.

  • It's all about perception... Edwards has been an advocate for the underclass, therefore, in the eyes of the press, he's supposed to give all his money to the poor and live like a homeless man. Republicans, on the other hand, are praised as benefactors of mankind if they simply don't eat their young.

The media are essentially junior high "Heathers." A variety of prissy clicks bent on embarrassing the uncool kids... Uncool by whatever their particular standard is of hunka, hunk burnin' manliness is. That's why W. hasn't been pilloried more. Despite being a total cock up of a president, he just such a good-ol-boy hard ass... the pasty white punditry just love to be in his shadow.

  • Heathers. Man that's an hysterical reach back. So fitting.

Romney's makeup also echoes the clash in his character, that he is a pretty boy. The thing is, there's not a left wing noise machine to promote it. Many in the media listen to limbaugh, but there's no lefty equivalent.

(Although I would say there's some evidence that TPM and Thinkprogress are becoming regular reading for some on the cable networks.)
