  • Charlie McCarthy would be proud.

  • Interestingly, our neighbors to the north seem to have a generally clearer view of our political handpuppetry than we do. They write op-ed columns that have more clarity than ours, by far. How is it that 60% of Americans still think Saddam Hussein caused the 9/11 attacks, and why aren't we smarter than that?

  • Matt, You got me to change the caption.

Local, Everywhere but here. Of course, the Canadians didn't have the same propaganda effort targeting them and exploiting their emotional grief.

  • Harper wishes he had such supplicant press... PM Harper is a kindred spirit to the American neo-con, in my opinion.

  • I'm not an expert, but is he really Bill Kristol, Richard Perle kinda gone? I would think he's more Euro hawk like Berlusconi or Sarkozy.

  • Neither an I an expert, but I think he is Bill Kristol gone. Or maybe Karl Rove gone. Not with regard to Iraq, per se, but with the notion of no compromise political warfare, where the loyal opposition is seen as the enemy to be crushed. With regard to military swashbuckling, I think you're right... Harper is more Berlusconi. But I'm getting far out of the scope of my actual knowledge.

Take my observations with the blogosphere grain of salt they deserve.
