On a different front, the news site Elaph quoted a statement by Tariq al-Hashimi, leader of the Islamic Party, in which al-Hashimi asserted that the Sunni Iraqi Accord Front (IAF) will indeed withdraw from the government tomorrow (Tuesday,) adding that his coalition “has other options.”..... Such meetings are usually linked with rumors claiming that an anti-government coalition may be formed, grouping next to the IAF, the Sadrist movement, the Fadhila party and 'Allawi’s “Iraqi List,” which has been trying to form such a coalition for several months.

Novak is such a peculiar creature--a Neanderthal right-winger, but occasionally independent enough to call the administration on its BS. What I wonder is, will the Bushies be screaming for his blood as they would for, say, Robert Scheer's, if Scheer had been the one to disclose the contents of a secret briefing?

No, they will not go after Novak, just like they will not go after the weekend's leakers on the Terrorist Surveillance Program leaking classified info to protect Gonzales.
And, I never know what to make of Novak. His information is usually pretty good, but it's so shaped by his intention to influence, it's tough to weed through. He'll shape it, leaving out critical bits or emphasizing tiny things to try and get the politics he wants.
