(AP) The Iraqi parliament begins its August vacation today.
(No word yet on how much of August Bush will spend in Crawford.)

...or how much time Congress-critters will stay off the job as well. Wouldn't it be nice if Dem leaders said that in such Constitutionally trying times as these it would be inappropriate for them to take a break. But, they're only politicians -- they have different priorities... I won't hold my breath.

Hmmm. I'll have to find out. My recollection is that customarily Congress left town for August and didn't return until after Labor Day. But I could be mis-remembering...
