Yeah, but Forrest Gump wasn't a highly trained, highly armed meth head with little supervision.
Probably would have made a much better movie, though.

That is so very true! We need to start writing some screenplays. Can you just imagine the crop of Iraq war movies to come?

I wonder if they'll be gungho's. I would think you'd have some John Wayne/Chuck Norris type movies, some Blackhawk Down type movies, and then this odd third type that is the father and familyman regular guy just trying to make it through.
Maybe it's because of the increased phone/internet communications, but this is the first war where that type of story really exists, of a father "at work" in a war, but still calling home every few days.
