Polling on Iraq.
As always, polling is what it is, but.....
That last bit is why the Dems are forcing a vote. Even if it's non-binding, they want every Republican on the record.
In 2008, they want no question of who stood where.
(Bush approval 37%. USAToday/Gallup.)
There is majority support for congressional action on Iraq: 51% back a non-binding resolution, 57% a cap on troop levels and 63% a timetable to withdraw all U.S. troops by the end of 2008. However, 58% oppose denying funding for the additional troops.....
Seven of 10 say their representative's vote on the war will affect their vote in the next congressional election; more than four in 10 call it a major factor. However, nearly two-thirds aren't sure where their representative stands on the issue.

A recent poll here in NH has the President's approval rating hitting new lows at 31%. Let me repeat that. In the rock-ribbed conservative, Live Free or Die, stoic-Yankee state of New Hampshire, only 31% of the people approve of George W. Bush's performance as president.
Sen. John Sununu (R-NH) better be looking over his shoulder, because we're watching you.

From what I've read, he is.
Did you see the newsbit about him RUNNING away from reporters after meeting with Bush on the escalation?
And, anecdotally, even down here in Texas where I mix with both the business and religious Republicans, nobody is saying they like the plan.
I would guess probably a minority do support it, but that position is so unpopular, they won't say it in public.
