Picture of the Day - 2
"Many parts of Iraq are stable now. But, uh, of course, what we see on television is the one bombing a day that discourages everyone." - Laura Bush on Larry King last night.
(Scattered human remains lay on a street after a car bomb attack in Najaf, 160 kilometers (100 miles) south of Baghdad, Iraq, Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007. A suicide car bomber struck a police checkpoint Wednesday killing at least 11 people. (AP Photo/Alaa al-Marjani))
(Frankly, there are multiple civilian bombings each day, we only get major reporting on the large casualty attacks. I'm sorry for the graphic image, but I thought it was the only way to convey my point.
The reality is far worse than the "one bombing a day" coverage we do get.)

Ah, wisdom from the let them eat cake class. How long can a democracy -- or any country -- survive at the reigning hands of the delusional.
I keep coming back to visions of the French aristocracy in the late 18th century.

Yeah, I've had that flash, too.
But it's not just the administration. No reporter ever follows with, "are you serious?"
3,000 dead a month, dead tortured bodies showing up like mushrooms on the streets every morning, no potable water and little power affecting 1/2 the population?
