No diamonds. (Blood diamonds?)
Just a weird little aside. I didn't watch the Oscars, but my mom had the red carpet on in the background. Somebody in our group noticed that almost none of the women were wearing diamond necklaces, and we got to wondering if that was a fashion statement or a political statement.
With the new awareness of "blood diamonds," are diamonds becoming the new fur?

I'm guessing they are. DeBeers tried very hard to stop this film being made, or at least postpone it until after Christmas.
They even planted a fake story in the NY Post just to try and hurt the producers.

I don't know. I don't keep up with fashion, so this could be some trend I missed.
But, since that movie brought "blood diamonds" to the forefront, it wouldn't surprise me.
(And, Debeers doing something unethical? No, never!)

It's about time. Even the word diamond should make us cringe.
