Oh yeah, they're just a regular family like the rest of us.

How dare you mock your betters! This country wasn't founded by the miserable flotsom and jetsam of Europe, whining about the excesses of the royal courts of Europe. No, this country was founded by men of principle, honor and vision.
To mock a debutante ball is to mock the very moral fabric of this nation! The poor are poor because they are lazy and God has not shown favor on them because of their sins!
In America the best are kept in their rightful positions of authority and influence by the Grace of the Almighty.
Don't you ever forget it!

I can almost hear the soaring strains of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" rise to near crescendo at the end of that comment. I'm choking back tears of pride at the very moment.
Meanwhile, back in the real world, John Edwards should file this away for one of his "two countries" speeches.

He could do a whole section on the Bush children.

i met ashley at the ball, and let me tell you something : she's just a young girl, very nice and simple. What do you think she is? we can be born at the crest of the empire and not being an asshole.

Dude, the International Debutante Ball is just a bunch of rich Texas girls trying to be elite. Don't read into the the tails and kid gloves. The Bush girl was hot though!
