Sometimes the news cycle forgets.
As I'm watch the daily coverage of climbers stranded on a mountain, I find myself wondering why the media has forgotten about Ahmed al-Taayie, the US soldier who was captured in Iraq almost two months ago.
The Pentagon confirmed today that a Michigan soldier missing in Iraq since late October probably was captured by the enemy.....
It's believed that an anti-American Shiite militia snatched him off the street while he was visiting his Iraqi wife in Baghdad on October 23rd.

Perhaps because the newsreading mind confuses the incident with the two Israeli soldiers pinched by Hezbollah at the start of the recent southern Lebanon hostilities... who likewise have not been rescued or accounted for.

That's a really good point.
I had forgotten about them.
(Larger picture) I would guess it's because there's no daily newsconference, no easy photography, and the authorities want to talk about it.

Those Israelis were on foreign territory. They weren't snatched, they were captured. FWIW, they could have been sent in knowingly what would happen or it's all fake (remember how ww2 got kicked off?). Perhaps there's a third option.
